Plant Quarantine Basic Information
- Plant Quarantine Targets: Products with plant quarantine import requirements in HS CODE that are plants or contain plant-based materials
- Processed Product Exception: Products listed in [Appendix] Examples of Processed Products can be cleared without a phytosanitary certificate
- Quarantine Exemption: After initial import and plant quarantine inspection, importing the same product within 1 year may be exempt from quarantine
Main Examples of Processed Products
- Plants preserved with substances with preservative effects such as chemicals, salt, sugar, or oil
- Bamboo or wood products that can be used as-is without reprocessing
- Wood products made through heat treatment or chemical treatment
- Products processed into textile forms such as cotton, linen, paper, rope, or nets
- Products where pests have been killed and packaged to prevent pest re-infestation
- Plants processed to a degree where pests cannot survive
